This'd be fantastic.

Imagine two tracks ?  Actually let's not imagine them, let's get them built.

Yes, not only is the Ringwood Circuit getting ever closer to fruition (see http://hunterdog.org.au/DiscussionBoard/index.php?topic=275.0 for the latest update, council approval seems to be very likely somewhere between September - November this year) but there is a serious proposal to get a circuit happening in Dungog. Except the Dungog proposal is different - there the Council is fully behind the idea already and are going to be in the business of removing hurdles from day one! Click on the link for this Announced Topic to read the detailed proposal for this track.

The Dungog circuit is being led by a really decent fellow called Peter Behnke who rang me recently and we had a long conversation about the topic. Whilst Peter was looking for input as to what the needs to run motorcycling events on the track were we cut across all aspects of the enterprise and I am sure he will find we Ducati riders to be enthusiastic supporters of the venture, both in the initial stages and ongoing. Pete sees no issues with there being two tracks in the general area (when Ringwood gets up) and I suspect the combined effect for the area will be better than that of two individual tracks.

The main issues for the Dungog Circuit going ahead come down to some basic decision making about the site and costs to acquire / lease, as well as the overall funding of construction and operation. Should anyone reading this be able to make a substantive contribution to these aspects I'm sure Pete would love to hear from you, he can be found at the Maitland branch of Hunter Optical Specialists (see www.hunteroptical.com.au to contact him, or for your next optical work) and his mobile phone number is on the track proposal front cover.

<snip> rest of newsletter was about stuff on the board index and doesn't belong in this sticky topic.
